Time to sign up for the Committee and be a volunteer!
We need Parent Volunteers to join the committee.  We need a pack trainer, secretary, and donation specialist.  Even if you are not interested in these roles we have several other tasks volunteers can do
We need family involvement in order to maintain the success of Pack 3169!

Journey To Excellence

Parents and Leaders, I want to thank all of you for another great year of Cub Scouts. I received confirmation back from the Council that our Recharter was accepted and that our Cub Scout Pack 3169 of Basehor, KS chartered by First Baptist Church .. earned GOLD status again .. based upon last year’s Journey to Excellence criteria set that Cub Scout Packs are measured against as a level of Quality!

The Journey to Excellence quality status is determined by a Pack’s ~ Growth, Retention, and Participation rates. We have done excellent over the past years and have continued to earn GOLD status each time. GOLD status is the Best of the Best status ranks that can be earned and is acknowledged by the Council when referring new Scouts to go to for signing up to become a new Cub Scout. We are considered amongst the Best of all the Cub Scout Packs in Leavenworth and Wyandotte Counties. A Journey to Excellence Quality patch for 2012 will be awarded to each of the existing Scouts in the Pack once they are made available.

Again, thank you to all the Parents and Leaders and that made this accomplishment happen. As Cubmaster, I am proud to say we earned this!

Time to sign up for the Committee and be a Volunteer!

We need Parent Volunteers to join the Committee immediately and take on critical roles. Currently we do not have an Awards Coordinator and we need successors to train on being “Cubmaster”, “Committee Leader”, and Treasurer, as all of these positions are going to OPEN next year when our Scouts graduate and cross over to Boy Scouts. Even if you are not specifically interested in these roles, we have lots of other responsibilities that need to be covered that currently are being done by our Den Leaders.

Here are some incentives to consider:

·         Money talks so become a Committee Leader, Committee Member, or Den Leader and if your Scout participates in the Popcorn Sale and sells enough popcorn to meet his sales goal then “your expense” is covered to attend Summer Camp. This means that you would attend Summer Camp with your Scout at no expense for yourself. For Webelos Resident Camp, this year’s fee for Parents was $130.00 each and for Bear Resident Camp this year’s fee for Parents was $60.00 each.


·         More incentives -- Fall Round-up is coming soon. If you get a new Scout join the Pack then you can earn $30.00 towards your Scout’s account with the Pack to be used for activities. The only catch is that the new Scout must officially register with the Pack and pay their 2013 Scout dues of $60.00.
